(Event) First Organic Kampung Chicken in Malaysia

Hello loves, as a Malaysian, I am almost always having chicken for at least five times a week. Do you know that there is a statistic for the amount of chicken a Malaysian consume on a yearly basis? According to Mr Wesley Tan (Group Executive Director of AQINA Group of Companies), one individual consumes an average of 46.6kg of chickens in a year. *shock*

Chicken is loved by many as it is an affordable source of protein.
Since I do cook myself, I opted for free-range chicken that are antibiotic-free but free-range chicken might be a gimmick you know. Anyways, I felt more assured that I will get safe and nutritious chicken from AQINA farm as they receive two accreditations from the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS).

On 4th September, I have witnessed history as AQINA Farm has being awarded two accreditations by the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) at an official ceremony held in KL Gateway Mall:
Malaysia Organic Animal Production (MyOrganic)

Malaysia Good Agriculture Practice (MyGAP)

The official awarding of the Malaysia Organic Animal Production (MyOrganic) to AQINA Group.

Organic Chicken VS Free-Range

Mr. Wesley Tan (Group Executive Director of AQINA) delivers the welcoming speech and also explain how AQINA's organic kampung chicken is unique from the others in the market.

AQINA's organic kampung chicken are nurtured slowly and organically (over 70 days to its optimal size WITHOUT antibiotics and growth hormones. They have better diet (use natural bio-based compounds such as Actigen & Lacto-Sacc that will reduce the amount of fat intake, assurance of zero antibiotic growth promoter compound, & for better conversion of good quality protein in chicken meat as well as supplemented with probiotic enzymes extracted from fermented MD2 pineapples from AQINA's pineapple farm that will result in a better immunity and healthier chicken). Lastly they are given the appropriate space and freedom to exercise. On average, they take about 81 days to reach the market weight, which is twice as long as the typical non-organic kampung chicken.

According to Daylesford: Free-range chicken is said to be a cunning marketing ploy as it only offers minimal improvements on the average barn-reared bird. Not all free-range chicken is reared under unpleasant condition tho, but we must be aware that the term free-range does not guarantee high welfare.

Why Fermented MD2 Pineapples?
According to Dr. Gulam Shah bin Fazal Din (Senior Veterinary Consultant), bromelain enzyme from MD2 pineapples contains vitamin C, vitmain B1, potassium, manganase and phytonutrients.

This enzyme helps to boost immunity and digestibility, which explains why AQINA can supply Organic Kampung Chicken, free from antibiotic residue, growth hormone, capable of performing like any conventional reared chicken.
