The company was founded in 2012, at the very beginning he started taking orders and making them at home while attending French language classes at Alliance Francaise de Kuala Lumpur. The reason he chooses to learn French is simply because he can easily read French recipe books without a hassle for translation. Moreover, life would be easier while wandering about the cities in France. Chef Leoniel has found his passion in culinary world by travelling around the world. He was a flight attendant for almost 10 years.
Chef Leoniel enhances his skills at Le Cordon Bleu and continues his pursuit of excellence by attending workshops periodically. According to the chef, he believes that "It is indeed the passion that makes a different to what you serve to your customer."

(Image NOT Mine. From google search!) Gratin Dauphinois is a traditional regional French dish based on potatoes and creme fraiche, from the historic Dauphine region in Southeast France. There are many variants of the name of the dish, including pommes de terre dauphinoise, potatoes a la dauphinoise and gratin de pommes a la dauphinoise. I think I will love this, would love to try soon ^^ |

This is the backdoor of the cafe.
Coz on Weekends, for safety reason, usually the "front" door is locked (as I was told) so you gotta enter via the Alliance Francaise entrance.
Coming by WAZE: Type in "Alliance Francaise" , "Chez Leoniel" in KL , or even "15 Lorong Gurney"
This is how it looks like when entering from Alliance Francaise entrance.

Don't you love the art pieces on the wall? :) A very cozy place indeed! Just nice to hangout, take pics and just chill ^^ |
TBH, this is my first official high tea session with blogger friends and its wonderful.
When I go on a cafe hop, I usually aim for cakes and Instagram-worthy desserts.
The high tea here focuses more on the pastries and no cakes. >.<"
However, some of the pastries are beyond my expectations --- I LOVE IT!
Look for #BeeLeeRecommends to know which caught my heart!

They are extra crispy, fresh, warm and makes a tummy happy ^^
Also, the review may be slightly biased coz I am NOT a fan of super-sweet-based food.
Will die for cheese and basically savory food.
XD
Review : 3-Tier High Tea Set
(RM75 nett for 2 pax)

By the time we wanna eat, its already cold...from all the photo sessions XD #WhenYouEatWithBloggerFriends #AsiansAtWork |
1st Tier
On the left columns are the Fruit Panniers (4 pieces ; they have different fruit stuffing - One is similar to the apple pie one but of a caramel-ish taste while the other is more of a mango and berry combination).
On the right column of bigger pastries (2 pieces) are called the Apple Turnover. This totally caught me off guard. I never really like any fruit-based pastries but it is super YUMMY!

2nd Tier
1st pic - Macaroons - I tried the chocolate one and the centre tasted a little buttery. The overall was too sweet for me.
2nd pic - Financiers (Almond and Original flavor) - its the hard biscuit kind which I don't really fancy. And sweet for my tastsbuds.
3rd pic - Pain au Chocolat - initially thought it was some raisin bread. It turned out to be dark chocolate which I love!

3rd Tier
Mini croissant (at the back) - amazingly crunchy! Love it. You can either eat it by itself or have the given strawberry jam or butter at the first tier.

Apple pie (on the left) - I have never tasted apple pies (not even MCD) coz I find fruits in pies weird. This is my first experience of an apple pie. Crust was nice. Inside is soft but a tad bit too sweet for my liking!
Quiche Chicken Ham and Cheese (on the right) - It looks just like an egg tart. I super super super love this coz it has a layer of cheese on top and below is the very moist egg tart. Underneath are some ham pieces. Unique!

A 2 pax set also comes with a Red Fruit Tea - we love this as it helps to balance out the sweetness and feels healthy!
